Writing Prompt - You've Got Mail

Have you ever fired off an angry email without thinking it through? I bet Carolyn Bourne is wishing she had paused before sending off an email to her future step daughter-in-law, Heidi Withers.

Whose side are you on?

What would you have done if your mother-in-law had sent you something like this? Or do you feel like sending something similar to your darling son/daughter’s partner?

Emails are so much quicker than a letter – some furious typing, a stab at the send button and it’s gone. Been there, done that – and sent the grovelling apology two minutes later when I realised they were right and I was wrong.

A letter needs to be written on paper or printed out, then an envelope found and a stamp stuck on. Hopefully, by this time you may have reconsidered those harsh words.

So, who drives you nuts? What exactly would you like to say to them? Do you have a relative who makes you bite your tongue constantly?

Or, who do you think might send an irate email to you? How would you react? Would it be easier to have a face to face confrontation? Have you ever had comments/correspondence criticising your behaviour?

What would your character say in such an email? Or how would she react if she received it?

Can’t wait for Part 2: The Wedding - at least the best man won’t be short of material for his speech. (Or why don't you write his speech for him?)
